Beginner Rafting Trips: What to Know
Class II Rapids
Minimum Age: 4 (our minimum age on any rafting trip)
For timid older children, seniors and special needs. These trips can also be enjoyed by adults and older youths.
Inflatable Kayaks may be added for greater challenge.
The Class 2-3 Lower Klamath and Trinity Rivers can also be customized for youths under 8 years
Based in Maupin, Oregon, close to Bend and Portland, High Desert River Outfitters, Inc. is a family-owned and operated company with more than 18 years professional experience guiding trips on Oregon Rivers. Since 1984 HDRO (High Desert River Outfitters) has been running white water rafting adventures on the Deschutes, Owyhee, McKenzie, North Santiam and more. Rapid River Rafters merged with HDRO in 2004, in 2021 HDRO was acquired by Tributary Whitewater Tours, which has been running western US rivers since 1979.
