Please understand that when a reservation is made with High Desert River Outfitters it is a commitment for us to hold space for you. We can, and often do turn away others from particular dates if we are too full. If you decide to cancel, it can be difficult for us to book someone else on that trip, especially if cancellations are made close to the departure date. With this in mind we must be firm to the following policy.
If you have to make any changes to your existing reservation please call us to do so. Emailing that you want to cancel a trip or change the # of people coming does not confirm it on our end.
Due to our limited trip sizes, we turn away others once your reservation has been submitted. If you must cancel your trip, please notify us as soon as possible.
- If you cancel 31 days or more, prior to your launch date – You will receive a refund less your deposit. The deposit amount is available to you as a Gift Certificate/Raincheck upon request.
- If you cancel within 30 days of the trip – sorry we do not offer refunds within this window. You may request to receive a Gift Certificate for the amount you paid, we look at this option on a case by case basis and cannot always guarantee it. You may, however, substitute another person with no penalty.
Although it is highly unlikely, we reserve the right to cancel or modify a trip due to insufficient reservations, water conditions, weather, or other conditions beyond our control. There will be a full trip credit issued for any trip cancelled by Raft California. Our financial liability is limited to the amount paid to Raft California and shall not cover any other costs incurred by trip members.
Responsibility / Trip Insurance
Despite the safety of rafting, prospective participants must understand that all river voyages involve some risk. High Desert River Outfitters assumes no responsibility for injury to trip members, their personal belongings, or for time or expense incurred. We therefore require all trip members to sign a liability release and assumption of risk form prior to embarking on a trip. The determination of any participant’s fitness for a river trip is the sole responsibility of said participant.
Trip cancellation, accident and baggage insurance is very important. Such coverage will protect you against the possibility of expensive emergency medical aid or evacuation, loss of baggage due to theft or damage, and cancellation of your trip due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances.
Note: All river trip prices are subject to a land and river use fee of 8%.
