North
Santiam River Trip - Packsaddle Park to Fishermens Bend-
(14miles)
Thank
you for inquiring about our one day guided paddle raft adventure! North Santiam river rafting is among the Willamette Valley's more
picturesque. Your 14 mile whitewater adventure begins at
Packsaddle County Park and ends at the quaint community
of Mehama.
Your North Santiam river
trip will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. with check-in
at Packsaddle County Park, located just minutes east
of Salem on Highway 22 . After a thorough on-shore training
session by our knowledgeable, company certified guides,
your adventure will get underway.
The
North Santiam river flows out of Big Cliff Dam on the west
side of the Cascade range. Surrounded by Douglas firs,
vine maples, and large boulders this river is an example
of classic Oregon scenery.
Glide
through tranquil pools of gin-clear water where you
can see the river bottom fifteen feet below. Relish
in the excitment of boiling, churning whitewater with
names like Spencer's hole, Carnivore, Big Swirly Rapids.
Feel your heart flutter as you help pilot your raft
toward the six foot vertical drop of Mill City Falls.
This is an exciting run for the whole family.
A
classic pool and drop stream comprised of Class II,
III and III+ whitewater, we think you'll find the North
Santiam rafting trip a delightful experience. At Fisherman's Bend,
we pull out for an all-you-can-eat deli lunch and assorted
beverages.
The
location of the North Santiam river rafting makes it a great choice for parties
coming from the Central Willamette Valley or the Central
Oregon guest looking for a new adventure!
Meet
us in Bend, Sisters, Black Butte Ranch, or at the River
for this great full day trip!
Note:
Because the North Santiam's water temperature can be
on the chilly side, High Desert River Outfitters supplies
each participant with an all-weather paddle jacket and
pants. These paddle jackets and pants are made from
nylon-coated taffeta with neoprene cuffs and neck and
drawstring closures at the waist, locking in the wearer's
body heat.
